We recommended regular wellness examinations for all companion animals. This includes new pet exams, puppy/kitten wellness visits and vaccinations at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age, and annual visits for adult dogs and cats. Geriatric pets should receive semi-annual examinations to help catch health issues early.
At each wellness visit, your pet with be weighed and receive a thorough hands on physical examination. During this time the veterinarian will also address any specific concerns you may have and make recommendations based on their exam findings. This may include bloodwork, radiographs, ultrasound, or other specific testing; as well as nutritional advice and treatment or supportive care options.
Vaccinations are one of the cornerstones of preventative pet health. At your annual wellness evaluation, the veterinarian will assess your pet's disease risks and vaccine history, and recommend the appropriate vaccinations.
